The Arizona 2012 Project wishes to thank all those who assisted, volunteered, donated, attended, and contributed to our February fundraising event, Raisin' Cain on Mummy Mountain.

After leaving their cars in the tender care of the valet parking service, guests were guided through an impressive portal into an enormous walled courtyard. Complete with a fountain at the center and a gorgeous early evening sky, this was to be the setting of the grand auction to follow.

Initially escorted through doors opening into an inner courtyard, the guests soon discovered for themselves the two well-located and nicely-staffed liquid refreshment counters as well as the multiple silent auction items on display. As guests made themselves comfortable with the venue and one another, an arriving Herman Cain was officially greeted and then escorted to a 'Grip N Grin' marathon for those who opted for photos with the stalwart conservative.

Exiting the photo opportunity, they found themselves instantly mixing with the other guests, among whom were: National RNC luminary Sharon Day; Russell Pearce; Senators Sylvia Allen, Judy Burgess, Frank Antenori; Representatives Brenda Barton, J.D. Mesnard, Steve Montenegro, and Carl Seel; Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio; Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce and County Supervisor Andy Kanasik, plus numerous candidates for city, county, and state offices. Mingling among them and the VIP guests were Tea Party leaders invited from around Arizona for a private confab with Mr. Cain.

Some photos from the gala can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.315129225212334.72921.289995011059089&type=3

The event raised some respectable funds, thanks in large part to those who contributed our major auction items. Conducted by the astounding Letitia Frye, the auction seemingly was over in a blink and the generosity of the bidders was phenominal. The items sold were a Bahamas cruise, a McNaughton signed & numbered artwork (now graciously on loan and displayed in our Shea Boulevard offices), two multiple course dinners for ten with suitable wine choices personally prepared by our venue host's chef, and even Herman Cain's hat with a personal autograph and photo - plus many, many more.

Proceeds from the auction will give the Arizona 2012 Project a bootstrap opportunity to underwrite our current and future projects, for additional video production, continued training for our activist volunteers, and to spark an upcoming 'American Mayday' scholarship essay contest.

The evening drew to a close with an inspiring presentation from Mr. Herman Cain. The enthusiastic crowd listened and approved, interrupting with several standing ovations to an inspiring speech. Live video streaming, thanks to Mr. Tim Tuntland, made Mr. Cain's presentation available to the entire internet. He has the event archived and it soon will be available on Tuntland's LitehouseLLC.com (timtuntland@yahoo.com).

In conversation with our Chairman, Herman Cain remarked, "This is the best organized Tea Party event I've attended this year." High praise indeed. And well deserved of all the Arizona 2012 Project supporters, volunteers, and friends who worked to earn that praise.
