Simply, this petition is to make clear to President Obama and Congress that the American people will Stand With Israel, in opposition to a nuclear-armed Iran and for America’s national security.  These four principles will guide us: 1.  Prevent Iran from ever attaining nuclear weapons capability 2.  Support Israel directly and indirectly if she sees fit to militarily remove Iran’s nuclear threat 3.  Encourage other nations in the Middle East to publicly oppose a nuclear-armed Iran and denounce rhetoric and violence against Israel 4.  Support legislation aimed at strengthening the US-Israeli defense alliance PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND FORWARD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW Recent news makes this issue even more time-sensitive.  Reports today out of Azerbaijan, Iran’s neighbor, confirm that 22 people were arrested with ties to Iran, ready to carry out terrorist attacks on American, Israeli and other western targets.  “Security services in Azerbaijan have arrested 22 people they say were hired by Iran to carry out terrorist attacks against the U.S. and Israeli embassies as well as Western-linked groups and companies.  The national security ministry said Wednesday that the 22, all Azerbaijan citizens, had been trained in Iran, its southern neighbor, by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/azerbaijan-arrests-iran-hired-armed-group-allegedly-planning-attacks-on-us-israeli-embassies/2012/03/14/gIQAT988BS_story.html - Washington Post  03/14/2012 This not only confirms Iran’s threats to America and Israel are real and legitimate, but the catastrophic nature if Iran were to achieve nuclear weapons capability.  We know that terrorists are trained in Iran by the Revolutionary Guard, we must stop them before those terrorists have nuclear weapons to carry out attacks.  Friends, this is not only about a stable Middle East and a secure Israel, this issue cuts at the heart of America’s national security, now and into the future.  While our leaders schedule talks with Iran that won’t get started for a month, Iran is busy continuing to enrich uranium, stockpiling an underground fortress for its “peaceful” nuclear program and threatening Israel and the U.S. at every opportunity.
