The Obama administration took it upon itself to unilaterally drive a stake into the heart of the First Amendment by mandating that employers, including religious institutions, offer government-approved health insurance that covers all forms of contraception -- from birth control to the morning after pill to even sterilization. And it did so AGAINST the wishes of the American people and in direct violation of the First Amendment, which clearly reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
And to make matters worse, after the Catholic Church and Americans across the country fought back, Obama issued a so-called "compromise" in an attempt to dupe the American people into believing that he was backing down...seemingly bypassing any moral objections. But Obama's "Compromise" Is A Sham. As National Review explained, "Here's what the Obama plan would mean in practical terms: If a non-exempt religious employer -- that is, a religiously affiliated employer, such as a Catholic social-service agency, that is not exempt from the mandate as a house of worship -- chooses to offer health insurance to its workers, that insurance must always include among its benefits free contraception, sterilization, and access to abortion-inducing drugs."
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Barack Obama actually believes he can get away with pulling the wool over our eyes and shred our most fundamental liberties in the process. Don't be fooled...
