Dear Fellow American,
Do you know what's missing from today's politics? Accountability,
Barack Obama released his new budget this week and it's nothing more than election year handouts. His budget is politically unacceptable to Republicans in the House and Democrats in the Senate. It's designed to uphold Washington's pointless political gridlock. Nobody wants to cast a tough vote that could make them look bad in an election year...or any year at all for that matter. That's why it's been over three years now since Congress has passed any budget at all!
The reason America is running huge deficits is that both Congress and the President are content to do nothing. How are we supposed rein in out of control spending when our country has no spending plan? Their promises to cut spending, fix the economy, create jobs, and change Washington are just words that lack authenticity. It's election year pandering for special interest money and votes.
We need some courageous leadership in Washington and I'm ready to step up to the challenge.I'm asking you to invest in my campaign by making a donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more so that we can have more leaders who we're proud of and less who just tell us what we want to hear.
Win or lose, I will show people there's a right way of doing things in Washington. Good leadership comes down to simple moral values of right and wrong, good and bad. And after 38 years, I'm not afraid to stand up for what's right, nor will I cave to what's popular. I'll do the job that voters elected me to do and not spend all my time worrying about saving my hide from special interests who stand to lose when leaders get serious about doing their jobs. I want to bring accountability with a moral compass back to public service that's been lost.
