Last week, the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB) announced that it will not verify the signatures submitted in the recall petition against Governor Scott Walker. Therefore, a recall election is imminent.
This is a battle between our conservative values and the unions' far left, big government agenda. Over the past 3 months, Wisconsin has become the ultimate battleground state. With 10 electoral votes up for grabs and an open Senate seat, Republican success in Wisconsin is critical to taking back the White House and the Senate.
Will you stand with me today to defend the limited government, pro-business agenda that leaders like Governor Scott Walker and Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald have fought for in Wisconsin and bring that agenda to all 50 states? Wisconsin's economy is one of America's few success stories. From 2008-2010, the state had lost 150,000 jobs and racked up a $3 billion deficit. Today, Wisconsin enjoys a $300 million surplus and 10,000 new jobs created in 2011 thanks to Walker's and Fitzgerald's fiscally conservative policies.
Their new Republican majority in Madison righted the ship while less than half of America's states have been able to create a budget surplus in recent years. Unfortunately, the unions and their far left allies will do anything and spend whatever it takes to get rid of Governor Walker, prevent Speaker Fitzgerald from becoming Wisconsin's next U.S. Senator, and undo their limited government, pro-business agenda.
We cannot allow the unions to make an example of Wisconsin. If they do, we can count on Barack Obama winning a second term and Harry Reid maintaining control of the Senate. Don't let this happen!
