Jack,

The battle raging in the United States court system to “redefine” our Second Amendment rights cannot be ignored.

Even though we’ve had a handful of short-term victories striking down local gun control laws, I’m afraid many of our supposed “pro-gun” friends are setting us up for CRUSHING defeats in just a few short years.

That’s why I’ve decided to form the National Foundation for Gun Rights, the political arm of the National Association for Gun Rights.

And it’s why I’m asking for your tax-deductible support RIGHT AWAY
.

You see, decades of big-government, anti-Constitution drivel from many of America’s top law schools -- combined with half-hearted legal defenses of the Second Amendment -- spell trouble for you and me.

Sure, any Second Amendment supporter cheers when our gun rights are expanded. I was proud to be quoted by Justice Alito when the Supreme Court struck down the Chicago Gun Ban.

But you and I can’t ignore the FACT that our court system is setting some incredibly dangerous legal precedents. They’re signing off on massive gun rights INFRINGEMENT on the federal, state and local levels.

Remember Nancy Pelosi bragging about how much “room to run” the Supreme Court’s Heller decision gave politicians to enact gun control?

Even the new DRACONIAN gun control laws Washington, D.C. issued used the Heller decision as justification for their new laws, including:

*** Gun Licensing and Registration -- To own a handgun, all D.C. residents must register them and obtain a handgun license.

*** Gun Tests -- Washington, D.C. residents who want to keep a handgun in their home must have Maryland Police Department perform ballistic testing on it before it can be legally registered.

*** Lock-up your safety -- Firearms stored in the home of Washington, D.C. residents must be unloaded AND disassembled. They must ALSO be secured with trigger locks, gun safes, or similar devices. A hammer makes a better self-defense weapon.

And the Second Amendment supposedly ALLOWS all of this?

According to the United States Supreme Court’s Heller decision, the answer is . . . nobody knows.

Far from being the Court’s “final answer,” the Heller decision has only set off a firestorm of new legal challenges and gun cases that will eventually weave their way to the Supreme Court.

So just imagine if President Obama wins another term and is able to replace one or even two more justices.

Or what about Mitt Romney? Do you feel “safe” when you think about who Romney might nominate to the Supreme Court after he signed a PERMANENT Semi-Auto Ban into law in Massachusetts? I don’t!

Allowing the Second Amendment to be whittled away for short-term victories only leads to DISASTER.

That’s why we need your support. And the good news is every dollar you donate to the National Foundation for Gun Rights is tax-deductible.

Our goal is to strategically apply the same take-no-prisoners approach that has made NAGR so successful.

With your help, the National Foundation for Gun Rights will find ways to solidify and expand our existing gun rights including:

*** Enforcing and expanding pro-gun precedents issued by the courts. The National Foundation for Gun Rights will be smart and pick the right cases to be a major force in the battle for our gun rights;

*** Defending select gun owners free of charge. Gun owners who have had their rights violated by bureaucrats or law enforcement must be protected;

*** Standing up for the Second Amendment.

Rather than attempting to curry favor with anti-gun judges, the National Foundation for Gun Rights will make an unwavering, uncompromising defense of the 2nd Amendment.

If you agree, I hope I can count on your generous financial support right away.

You see, there are already dozens of cases out there I’d like the National Foundation for Gun Rights to take on.

And with the 2012 Presidential election looming large, I don’t think we can afford to sit back on our hands and wait. Court cases take time.

If you and I want to make sure our Second Amendment isn’t “redefined” out of existence by a Supreme Court stacked with new anti-gun appointees, we must start fighting back now.

Of course, I’m going to have to depend on your generous financial support to make it happen.

But your immediate contribution to the National Foundation for Gun Rights will count as a tax deduction when you pay your 2011 taxes.

So can I count on you for an IMMEDIATE tax-deductible contribution of agree to a contribution $, $ or even $?

We simply can’t leave our court system in the hands of President Obama’s gun-grabbing bureaucrats and those who would compromise away our gun rights with half-hearted defenses.

I can tell you the National Foundation for Gun Rights will never back down in our defense of the Second Amendment.

But I’m depending on you to help make this possible.

P.S. You and I cannot stand idly by while our court system tries to “redefine” the Second Amendment.

That’s why I’ve decided to form the National Foundation for Gun Rights with the same take-no-prisoners approach of the National Association for Gun Rights.

But I’m counting on you to make this possible.
