Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul took some strong digs at his fellow candidates Friday, saying Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann “hates Muslims” and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum doesn’t like “gay people and Muslims.”

Paul made his comments on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” when the host asked him for his take on the other GOP contenders in the field.

On Bachmann, the Texas congressman said: “She doesn’t like Muslims, she hates Muslims, she wants to go get them.”

“Wow, okay, that’s not good,” Leno said.

And Santorum?

“Gay people and Muslims,” Paul answered.

The rest of Paul’s evaluations were decidedly tamer. On Mitt Romney, Paul simply said, “He used to be governor of Massachusetts.”

Just more reasons not to vote for Ron Paul. That makes him look stupid and hateful. But no matter, he’ll never be the nominee, much less President.

@Tom–he won’t be now. He has dug himself a hole and jumped in head first, evidently. I was an ardent Ron Paul supporter and, except for his foreign policy, believed (still do) that the changes he would effect once in office would serve all Americans very well (elminating I.R.S., slashing government, auditing the Federal Reserve, etc.). I guess he is now of the thought that running a dirty campaign will increase his chances of becoming President, whereas he ran a fairly clean campaign four years ago, and, for all intents and purposes, was ignored by the media and, thus, a large percenage of the population. As a result, and reluctantly, I will probably switch my support to either Bachmann or Gingrich (can’t bear the thought of either Romney or Perry in the Whitehouse; my skin is crawling at the mere mention). Pity.

That was a pretty innocuous interview on the Leno show. Why do you folks have your undies all bunched up. If you liked Paul before the show, why did this change your attitudes. To support Bachman or Gingrich after being a Paul supporter is a WTF brain fart decision.

Because if we had ANY doubt of his faith foundation or his foreign policy, we have NONE now. Paul would have us eating curry foods so fast it would make your head spin.

Paul followers better go break open their piggy banks and go buy a clue as to this man’s foundational belief system; it seems to be non existent. He has NO foreign policy other than not to have any. He has NO foundational belief system to proffer why we ought to have the freedoms we say are ‘rights given by God’…therefore he has no way to discern WHO/WHAT can and will take them away (like radical islam; muslims, duh!) That’s why Bachman is leary of ‘friendly’ muslims because orthodox islam knows no such follower. That also leaves him ‘blind’ as to why homosexuality and the lobby that supports it is so dangerous to those rights he finds so precious.

I have met Ron Paul and he is a likeable fellow; however,he is not right for the Presidency due to his incredibly naive stance on foreign policy and faith issues; both which translates to horrid statesman decisions if he is elected.

Ron Paul has a foreign policy, and it is an excellent one: don’t aggress against others first.

You learned this rule in the sandbox when you were little. If you treat others disrespectfully, they will retaliate. This is exactly what keeps happening to the US.

Compare us to Switzerland, which gives every man a gun and trains men militarily but does not engage in wars or choose sides in the world. Switzerland has not been attacked in the last 100 years- not by Muslims or
otherwise. They are a much more prosperous and much freer country. Our government size increases and becomes more corrupt with every war. Switzerland doesn’t have this problem.

You are correct. Paul’s criticism of Bachman & Santorum was not only vicious but unnecessary and gives more fodder to the Dems if either of them are nominated. And his policy of ‘making nice’ with Iran which has threatened not only Israel but America as well & now has the capability of implementing their threats makes Paul not only naive, but dangerous as well.

I do not support Bachmann, for a number of reasons, but she was absolutely accurate when she said Ahmadinejad was a “mad-man, and had threatened to destroy Israel and wipe America off the face of the earth, and we cannot afford to “underestimate” him.

ONLY a “mad-man” would even consider negotiating with a “mad-man.”

Ever since Saint Ron Paul was drafted early in the Vietnam war he too has harbored a hatred. He despises the military and has been on a quest to do as much damage as he possibly can to it. Very seldom if ever is this fact discussed or acknowledged by the Church of Ron Paul congregation.
I would love to have a professional body language expert evaluate him. Better yet an unbiased psychiatrists evaluation would be more interesting. maybe his church goers could have his image plastered on the shrinking cover of Time magazine and then the Vatican would do whatever they do to proclaim him a saint.

It’s no danger to America if Bachman hates them, but it is dangerous that Paul loves them. People who love muslims and defend them are blind to what the muslims long term agenda is. They view us as infidels and the koran requires all muslims to kill the infidels. Ask ANY muslim you know if that isn’t the way it is.

The world we live in is complicated, and if you think you can jump out 50 yards in front a train and stop it dead then continue with Ron Paul. (The movie Hancock was not a reality movie….sorry).
The world spends more in security measures against Islamist Terrorism each year than the whole of what the Allies spent in the 5 years of WWII. And we are not at war with Islam???…..not to mention we are being over run by immigrants who are here to support an attritional Jihad (approaching 56 million in the United States!) Islam openly proclaims a war against the infidel United States! So…????? Why should Bachmann or Santorum like Muslims? Paul seems to think the Iranians are not so bad people, they just have an evil leader….Really????? 40 plus years of extreme Islamic brainwashing has had no affect on them??? That makes about as much sense as a British General trying to convince the King of England they they could recolonize the United Sates 50 years after the Revolutionary War! If you think we are in position to be Isolationist as Mr. Paul proposes then you are so ignorant you probably will not be able to find the voting polls without a GPS!

They thwarted the attacks they let happen….some even set up like the Christmas tree bomber. They let that nut in Ft Hood shoot up a lot of soldiers though.

Napolitano said the system is working….a lot of those attacks were thwarted by citizens not the feds. In spite of the massive loss of freedoms we are no safer than before 9/11 in reality much less safe. Bombing and invading is not an act of friendship….it draws fire.

I lost respect for him over his attacks on Gingrich. Bachmann’s attacks on Gingrich in the debate was so bad she lost me as well. When she said Gingrich was pro partial birth abortion because he wouldn’t kick republicans out that refused to vote for the ban that IMHO was a bold faced lie and I cannot vote for someone that twists the truth that much.

As for Muslims and Gays I agree with Santorumm and Bachmann on those issues. Bachmann probably don’t like gays either. LOL

Amen!!From the start the only way I would have voted for Him is if He got the nomination.He would be many times better then Obama but I don’t think Paul has a clue on foreign policy.
I just hope He does not run as a third party candidate because that will hand the election to Obama on a silver platter.I have seen some suggesting a write in for Him which would also be a disaster.Those proposing this have a short memory.Ross Perot gave the election to the democrats when He ran as a third party candidate.

The powerful elite want us to argue based on a Right vs. Left theory. The right extreme being Facism and the Left extreme being Communism. Either way, those in power retain power. They really don’t care if it is right or left. It is a false paradigm, intended to entrap the human mind in a box of limited vision and questions. It may go back further than I’m going to talk about, but the early twentieth century social scientists who worked for the international banksters utilized it, and the international banksters funded both Trotsky who they sent to Russia, and Hitler in Germany.

Our founding fathers looked at a different political spectrum. One that had Tyranny (the antithesis of Liberty and Freedom- 1984 like) as an extreme; and Anarchy ( Mad Max or Road Warrior) as the other. They were looking to forge a system that had just enough “control” to keep us out of the chaos or Anarchy but to err on the side of Liberty and Freedom..

I invite you to realize, if you focus on the Tyranny/Anarchy paradigm while focusing on Freedom and Liberty, then all the garbage that we see on a daily basis on right vs. left is moot since both sides have their way of slowly revoking our Liberties and Freedoms. We let them revoke our freedoms only if it is a leader from our team. The left like war only when their leader is in office (Bosnia/Afghanistan). The right hate government intervention unless their leader is in the office (Patriot Act).

We’ve probably all been guilty when it comes to rooting only for my team, or as we commonly say it “the lesser of two evils” (which is still evil). The Left/Right Paradigm, is a way of keeping Americans away from thinking for themselve’s. There is no talk about our founding fathers in congress these days, except from a few Constitutionalists. Our founding fathers hated the idea of The Parties; People fighting and picking sides, instead of following whats really important, The Constitution.

Myth #2: Only leftists are opposed to interventionist war, the police/surveillance state, and completely arbitrary violations of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Today, to espouse a non-interventionist foreign policy is to commit the alleged sin of “isolationism” according to the grand mentioners in the media, intelligentsia, and government “leaders” and/or to identify oneself as a so-called left-liberal. Yet, the real diplomatic isolationists are those that perpetuate an interventionist foreign policy of aggressive, undeclared war, empire, and arbitrary abuses of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The real right is in favor of the absence of these abusive and dictatorial government powers and the presence of justice according to nature’s law.
