The "legal" profession has nothing to do with justice — an attitude that people in the past assumed to be the purpose — but grabbing money by masking the intent behind obscure words. When you get down to it, what is the basis of "education" for lawyers? I suggest limited library skills so they can find references to past legal "events" that will assist their case, but the prime focus is on distortion of the words, so that they can interpret anything in any way they want to. when you get down to it, most politicians have a "legal" background, they enact laws written by lawyers, these are subsequently debated by lawyers in front of a "judge" who then decides who has been able to distort the facts better. They are the winners. In a real society this would be considered an "incestuous" system. The "intent" of the law becomes completely ignored. It is the "words" that count — not the facts of the case.
"Marriage" was set up for the purpose of ensuring that the children would be brought up with parents — male and female. Both are important to how the children will develop. You do not need new laws to allow homosexuals to live together or to make financial commitments to each other. Why call it "marriage". Because the "legal" profession needs to have a stack of pages of legalistic mumbo-jumbo to debate and charge you for the right to be conned. | | Reply |
