| Dear Patriot,
Fox News published an article on its website last night describing the Republican Presidential primary race as a Tea Party vs. Establishment "battle for the GOP soul." This sort of analysis only proves one thing: the mainstream media still does not understand what the Tea Party movement is really about!
Yes, this Presidential race is incredibly important to all of us in the movement (read: we must defeat Obama in November), but to paint this one electoral contest as the defining moment for the Tea Party is asinine, and the idea that an "establishment" Republican nominee would mean the Tea Party somehow lost the "soul" of the Republican Party is equally absurd.
The media is going to be quick to judge our success based on who the Republican nominee is and whether they throw Obama out of the White House in November, but the real success of the movement is rarely reported on by the mainstream media.
First, we are committed to activating and motivating citizens and patriots who previously had no interest in politics. Since 2009, the previously silent majority has begun to rise up and fight for our principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. This is something we've never seen before!
Second, the Tea Party has been successful in influencing policy decisions in the halls of Congress. For example, Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and Barack Obama and his big-government allies wanted to let the Bush tax cuts expire. Yet, because of pressure from the Tea Party movement, the Democrats passed a full two-year extension of those tax cuts.
Finally, because this movement is truly grassroots, our electoral influence will always be most significant at local levels of government. Yes, we elected great conservative Senators like Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul, and we swept into Congress great patriots like Allen West, Joe Heck, Mike Kelly, and Tim Scott, but we've also elected countless city council members, school board officials, mayors and sheriffs.
And TheTeaParty.net has been there every step of the way. When it comes to motivating patriots from all across the country, we've brought you exclusive access to Conservative leaders. The guest list for our Tea Party Cyber Tour tele-townhall events is a veritable who's who of this country's leading patriots, we hosted the first-ever Presidential debate to be held on twitter, and Don't Tread on Me Radio gave the Tea Party an unprecedented voice on the airwaves.
And as far as influencing public policy, our members have sent nearly 3 million letters to Congress demanding action on the most important issues facing our country. Our Washington liaison reports that in the halls of Congress, the politicians and their staffs know that we're watching and we expect them to represent the voice of We the People!
The media is going to continue to report the death of the Tea Party. As far as they're concerned, this movement has always been insignificant and they will use any evidence they can to support that thesis. But this is the truth: not only are we still alive, we're growing stronger by the day. We're going to build on our ability to petition Congress through our cutting-edge twitter petition system. We're taking our voice to Washington to co-host the Conservative Political Action Conference, making sure that Conservatives in Washington are still listening to the Tea Party movement. And we're continuing to fight for the principles that make this country great: limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.
Another great thing about the Tea Party is that we aren't funded by big corporations, corrupt labor unions, or any other special interest. We don't receive huge donations from established conservative power brokers - we are funded exclusively by small donations from patriots just like you.
If you believe in the Tea Party, if you want to see us continue to fight for Constitutional Conservatism, and if you want make sure We the People have our voices heard in Washington, please make a generous donation today.
Thank You,
Todd Cefaratti Freedom Organizer
