Mathew Staver, Chairman Liberty Counsel Action Although the Obama administration and the lap-dog media are trying their best to stonewall the Benghazi debacle, the fact remains: Americans died and Obama lied. Jack, According to numerous emerging reports, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was responsible for editing out “specific references” to al Qaeda and terrorism from the unclassified talking points that were given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice for her many media appearances in mid-September. So far, no name has been specifically linked to the edited comments, leaving more questions yet to be answered regarding the way the deadly attack on our Libya consulate was handled. But, the Director is a political appointee of President Obama, and thus the trail is leading closer to the feet of the President. The American people have yet to learn who first invented the “spontaneous attack inspired by an obscure anti-Islam video” narrative that was used to mislead the public and the families of the murdered Americans for several weeks. The current official position is that “links to al Qaeda were deemed too ‘tenuous’ to make public” – this despite the fact that numerous terrorist groups were very active in the area around the consulate and were well known to American agencies. Nonetheless, in his testimony late last week, former CIA director David Petraeus said he felt that it was, in fact, a terrorist attack on our consulate from the very beginning, thus changing his original story that more closely hewed to the administration line. So, the contradictory stories and growing obfuscation of the truth continue... What we know as reality is the fact that the Obama administration placed the entire blame for the attacks on an obscure anti-Islam video that allegedly served as an incendiary device inflaming the entire Muslim world. Initially, the official position was that we “apologized” for being insensitive and bringing the purportedly out-of-control “spontaneous demonstration” on ourselves! How totally outrageous! Does the Obama administration ever plan on telling us the truth?
