Thank you all that signed our last petition that was delivered to the Super Committee. Although the Super Committee was not capable of doing their job, at least we did not get any new taxes out of them. You made your voices heard and I can't help but think that we had an influence! .
We need you to stand up again and tell Washington what you think! .
Conservatives clinched historic election victories in 2010 thanks to the Tea Party movement, which invigorated fiscal conservatives to engage in the political process and vote in record numbers. Americans clearly stated they wanted excessive spending and unsustainable debt to STOP. Yet, Republicans continue to be timid in standing up to the flawed policies promoted by President Obama.
Republicans must oppose more reckless, out-of-control spending. There are two upcoming issues that will demonstrate whether Republicans have heard the Tea Party message of fiscal responsibility:
Extending Unemployment Benefits – The President continues to promote government dependence by unreasonably extending unemployment benefits. These benefits are designed to be temporary, not extended for years. The federal government is already greatly over-spending and cannot afford to extend unemployment benefits, which deter individuals from seeking employment opportunities. WE MUST STOP NEW SPENDING NOW!
Big Spending Continuing Resolution Eyed for December 16th – Because of the irresponsibility of the President in presenting a budget and the failure of the Democrat-controlled Senate to adopt a budget, we are consigned to passing continuing resolutions to avoid a government shutdown. Republicans should be leading the fight to eliminate unnecessary spending and duplicative, wasteful government programs. Show America that you will not allow the Democrats to bully you into continuing the national spending spree! WE MUST CUT WASTEFUL SPENDING NOW!
Americans took a stand in 2010; now it is your turn to do the same. Republicans must stand for the fiscal responsibility that voters demanded. Failure to adhere to the wishes of conservatives will cause voters to return to the polls with a vengeance in 2012. .
