Senate GOP Shuns TEA Party

Rep_Roy_Blunt

Today, Senate Republicans held an internal election to choose a Vice Chairman for the Senate Republican Conference. Conservative organizations and tea party groups rallied to Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI). Senator Roy Blunt (MO) won the leadership contest 25 votes to 22 votes. It is worth noting the number of Senators who came out publicly for Senator Ron Johnson and the number who refused to publicly support Senator Blunt.

Senator Blunt is a fine guy, but he is decidedly on the side of the old guard that has shown a lack of initiative and ideas.

The election is a trust testament to the need to support Senator Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Fund and I hope is a strong signal to Senator DeMint and each of you that our work is not done and we must continue challenging incumbent Republican Senators in primaries.

The downside to this election is the GOP’s refusal to move past the narrative about party greed and corruption from K Street, which is as relevant now as it was in the Bridge to Nowhere controversy.

This is discouraging news. We're going to have to redouble our efforts. I urge all of you to support Senator DeMint and the Senate Conservative Fund.

I am very disappointed in the Senators from my state if they didn't go conservative!
I have been screaming at them for months to do something, anything, to get Obama impeached, and all I get are platitudes and a pat on the head!
Not impressed with Rand Paul at this juncture!
Mitch McConnell is just too, too, mellow, and must retire!

Those Senators who oppose the tea party in favor of their insider trading will be out of work after the 2012 election. It's really that simple. Had enough yet?

When the presidential candidates own up to the fact that BO is not a legitimate CIC ,as per the U.S. Constitution. Til then, I'm not giving a dime to any of them.

When we vote enough Tea Party people in, they won't have any choice but to pay attention.

The "Old Guard" Republicans where I live are supportive of the local Tea Party, and some of us are, in fact, Tea Partiers. What happens inside the Beltway is, in many ways, not representative of the rest of the country.
The REPUBLICAN TWITS had better wake up to the fact that the TEA PARTY ARE THE TRUE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS that want a proper honest FED. GOVT. to return this country back to a REPUBLIC that it started out to be, not the CORUPT THIEVES that are now running this country. Time to kick the ELEPHANT in the BUTT to put it on the right MORAL TRACK.

a lot of these senators need to be knocked down a peg or two, and maybe a few need to be voted out. the cons. and /or tea party group need to stick together before we lose this country not after.
NOT smart, boyz.

Ignore the Tea Party at your own job peril.
